  • Place of Interview to Non-resident Indian

We are from Tamil Nadu, India but live in a gulf country for many years. My daughter (born here in a gulf country) also lives here since her birth as a Non-resident Indian. She had earlier visited US twice on two different B1/B2 visa, both issued at Dubai and her second B1/B2 visa is still valid. She would be getting married soon in Tamil Nadu and the groom works in US. The marriage would be in Tamilnadu and we are planning for my daughter's H4 visa. My question is : is it okay to apply for H4 visa in Chennai or is it preferable to apply from Dubai itself? if it is not advisable to apply for H4 visa in Chennai, why?

I would appreciate your expert advice on this and would like to hear from people who had experienced this situation.

    My opinion..

If your daughter's new home after marriage is TN, I don't see any problem in applying at Chennai consulate.
