H1 Visa process and Court records

Hi all,

Having misdemeanor (for Battery) court record will effect H1 processing...or getting visa stamped.

In other words, will INS verify court records when processing H1 B work permit or will Embassy people come to know when processing H1 Visa (when we go for Visa stamping).

I meant court records in USA...will INS verify the court records of my previous stay in USA when they are processing new H1 B. And will embassy in India come to know these records when they process my visa.

I am not aware of any security or similar check requirement for H1B. Court records are not in the immigration accessible database's reach.

What I meant by Misdeamenor court record wass..having convicted for Misdeamenor(Battery). Is there anyway for the Embassy people to access those records. On Visa application there is a question (have you ever been convicted for any crime). If we put 'No' for that, will embassy people come to know about that?

Any information about this is greatly appreciated.
