  • Profit -to- Non Profit -to- Profit

    Hi All,

I am currently working for a profit organization. Recently got an offer from a Non Profit organization. They are doing my H1B visa transfer. But i have a big concern. If in future i want to transfer to a profit organization. Am i considered as normal H1B transfer or do i need to file for a new H1B Visa and wait till oct 1st.

Are there any benfits working for a non profit organization related to Green Card. Yet to start my Green Card.

I really appreciate ur help guys...

No special GC benefits. Once you have a cap subject H1b, you can switch back and forth.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Once you have a cap-subject H1 and still have H1 time remaining (subtract total time on H1/L1 from 6 yrs), you can move back to profit companies any time. Your "transfer" is NOT subject to cap since you were counted in the cap once and still have H1 time remaining.

As for GC, it's no different than profit companies. There is no added incentive unless you qualify for EB-1/NIW GC based on your qualifications among other things.
      Check out H1 FAQs first!
