PIMS Verification

Hello Senior members, I was just wondering can I do PIMS verification of my new I-797A (as I recently changed my job and got new I-797A) for my wife’s H-4 visa before actual taking her appointment or do need appointment letter to verify PIMS?

Also, she will be going to Mumbai embassy for the interview, can I check with consulate office at Mexico/ Canada for my PIMS verification in advance as I heard that American Consulate office at Mexico is better in the PIMS verification response?

Consulates check PIMS for their own people that have appointments booked. Most of the new petitions are already in PIMS database by default. Delay due to PMIS is hardly 2-4 days.
