H1 B Extension ....please help

Hi,

My H1 - expired in end of july 01, i have applied for extension in june 01 and i got EAC No. well before my H1 Expiration(i,e july 01).

After 3 months INS asked for my pay stubs...and they approved my H1.

Question is : In the new H1 approval says
Valid from OCT'01 to June '04. AND NOT July'01 to june '04 ...and the Receipt date on the H1 approval is
july 15 '01.

4 months(july - Oct) am i illegal ?

I am planning to go on vaction to india this december...

Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated...

No, you are not illegal in those 4 months.
