entry to US 10 days before the visa expiration

Hi.

I am on a H1B and I am travelling to India on a vacation. My return date is just 10 days before my H1b Expires. I will apply for an extension before going to india, but If my extension is not approved by then, will I face any issues at the POE?
Please advise.
