H1B question

Hello,

I have a question regarding my H1B and couldn't find the answer online. I am currently working on H1B. I would like to know what happens if I decide to take a few months off work and not work for anyone (I want to put time to do the GMAT and fill application for MBA).

Can I stay in the USA without working (no sponser) for a few months? Can I keep my visa for a few months until I decide to join another firm?
When I do join another firm, how much the transfer cost?

You can't remain in US on H1 if you are not working full time for the sponsor employer.

You could try changing the status to Visitor.
