Hi-b Extension

My 7th year HI-B extension filed Nov19th 07 2 S/R's from my lawyer and still no approval not even a lud, i know you can only work 240 days after expiration of HI-B that will be July 17th, does anyone know if anything else can be done I-140 approved I-485 pending. I do have EAD card but i don't really want to use it.
