H1B extension - How many times my H1B Visa could be extended

Hi All,

I just joined in this forum today.

I have H1B Visa issued to me on April 2004, however I first came to USA only on Mar 2005. Then I went back to India on Feb 2007 ,but before leaving I filed for the extension as my VISA expires on Jan 2007 itself.

I receive the extended petition and my VISA extended upto November 2009.

I came to USA again on Nov 2007 .

Now my question is if I can extend my VISA again in order to stay in USA ,Is there any limit for number of extension .

H1B is six years maximum stay in USA , does the count start when I enter into USA or when I receive my VISA first.

Only time spent on US soil on a H1b status counts towards the 6 year limit. Until the 6 year limit is exhausted, one could renew/transfer as many times, no limits.
