h4 stamping with spouse I-94

I am working on L1 visa. I am moving to H1 employer next month. My wife is going to India and wants to come back on H4. Is my new I-94 (h1b status) sufficient for this or do I need to go to Mexico for H1B stamping? In other words does my wife need copy of my passport with h1 stamp?

Please clarify.

Your new approval notice I797A with an attached I-94 is sufficient along with other docs needed.
