Dear Sir/Mam,
I am currently in the US working for my company who has sponsored my H1b visa. I have received the 797 with my H1 beginning Oct1 2008.
As of July 05, 2008 I have an urgent need to go back to India. I have spoken with my company and have been granted the vacation until I return with my visa stamped in my passport.
When I go for visa stamping in July/August, will there be any question about the lenght of my time outside the US before I return to my job in the US?
Secondly, I plan to return to the US on september 22nd, 2008. Will this be a problem? since the H1B start date is October 1st, 2008? I have heard from different sources there is a 10 day grace period?? Is this true?
Your advice is greatly appreciated.
