Questions abt filling in Visa application form

Hi,

I am going to Vancouver next week to get my H-1 visa stamp. There are 2 questions I have abt filling of form OF-156 (Visa app form): -

1)I am unsure what to answer to the question "Have you ever applied for a US Visa?" I was rejected once before in Toronto because I didn't have the LCA for the correct location. I also got an approved F-1 visa from Chennai in 1996. Which one shd I mention? Will mentioning my rejection in Toronto harm my chances?

2) My brother is in the US. Will mentioning it in the visa app. hurt my chances? Is there any way for them to find out if I say I don't have anyone in the US?

You have to mention all the truths. Not mentioning would be much more bigger trouble than not mentioning them.
