  • H1 - Counsular processing

    Hello,

Someone told me that if one gets H1 stamped and if he cannot go out of the USA, he can visit Americal consulate and get it stamped.
This is called Counsular processing. Please let me know if this is true.

    Thanks.

Isn't that how visas are issued? What is the question? Where is the American Consulate in your question, inside the US?

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Yes, Txh1b. I should have mentioned it in my question.
The point in the question was "American Consulate" in US.

Consulates and Embassies are foreign missions and can only be located outside their own country. Earlier, DoS used to stamp visas within the US and that service has been stopped back in 2003.

CP means you have to get a stamp outside US.
