H1 delay approval

Hello,

How do we know that the H1B receipt number is genuine ? The employer is not giving me the copy of the receipt that they received from USCIS.

He just emailed me the number and the status in the USCIS website says pending.

I've read in this forum that they normally lie or do not inform before we join them to prevent attrition. But, since we are legal H1 holders (after it gets approved) don't we have to right to know this ?

Only good employers do. You know now that your employer isn't good. H1b is employer's petition and there is no law that says they have to give it to you. The I-94 is yours though.
