I-94 Expire date during POE

I am on H1B Visa which is expiring on Sep 30th 2008, but I've a new approval petition till Jul 2011.
I've a plan for a vacation to India on 8th Sep and returing back before visa get expired (i.e.) on Sep 24th 2008.

When I come back to US, what's expire date will the office mention in I-94. Will it be visa expire date or new approval petition date (i.e) till Jul 2011.

You have to show your new approval I797 to the CBP officer at POE and they have to give your I-94 based on your new approval and not your visa. If you don't present the I797, then it will be your visa expiration date.
