h1b petition

Hi,

I got my H1B petition (I-797B) for 2008. The validity of petition is 1 year (ie from 1st Oct 2008 to 30th Sep 2009 ). But previously it was three .
a) So if I get H1B Visa after stamping . Will it be for 1 year.
b) If I go for stamping in the month of January 2009 . Will I be getting visa valid from Jan to Sept.

b/ Yes

Check with your lawyer as to why the employer applied for just 1 year or if it was an error. The H1b validity is based on validity of LCA submitted by the employer.
