Travel abroad when visa valid for 5 months

Hi,

Can i travel to India when my I-94/ Visa (USA) is valid for only 5 months and my green card application has been just filed.

Can i return till the last date on which my i-94 is valid.

What happens, if my green card application is processed during the time of my travel?

You can return on the visa (H/L etc). If you had the GC approved by then, you would have to go through secondary inspection or have someone send you the GC to enter.

If you are applying for the GC, you would apply for AP also and if you travel before AP is approved, AP is void. I doubt if your GC would have such a quick turnaround as you need your biometrics done before it can be approved.
