After stamping , some queries

My employer mentioned about the start of employment date as mid nov2008.
my questions are:
1.As i'm planning to go to US by mid february[ with employer's permision]
will this create any problem at the port of entry.?

2.What documents do I need to carry specifically if i'm entering late[or otherwise] from the scheduled date of start of my employment.
Will letter from my employer mentioning the new dates of commencement of my employment will suffice?

And who this letter should be addressed to?
