L1B visa and H1B approved petition from same company: Pls advise

Hi there's

I have a H1B petition filed and approved from my current employer 'A'. But 'A' has sent me to US by processing my L1B and I am currently in US.

Please help me with below queries regd H1B:

a. Is my H1B petition still valid (original validity is till 2010).
b. Can I join another employer while in US on L1 using my valid H1B petition (applied by my current employer). if yes, do I need to leave us to get h1b visa stamped.

I only have the EAC number of the approved petition with me, will this suffice to transfer my h1b petition. Please advice. -- Thanks - ARK

Only EAC number is not enough but a good lawyer might be able to pull through with it.
