present status is H4 and got shortlisted for H1

Hi everyone!!

My current status is H4, which is valid till may 2009 and i ve been approved
H1 petition this year(2008). I came to India in august before my petition was approved.Due to some family constraints I have decided to stay bak in India till Feb-2009.
Kindly let me know whether i come back to US in Feb on my H4 visa or do I have to go for the stamping of my H1 visa here itself in India and only then enter US on H1?I have an infant now and it would be easier for me to go for stamping of H1 in mexico or canada in Feb 2009 rather than in India.

I am in a great dilema and would be grateful to u if u can guide me right in this regard.
