  • 221g-Chennai(pink form)-Aug,Sep,Oct-updates

    Hi all,

I went for H1B stamping on Aug 27th and got 221g (Pink Slip),I think for sensitive field of study. Its 5 weeks and I havent heard anything. I would like to hear updates from anyone else in a similar position, after interviews in either Aug/Sep/Oct 2008. Please update your status and if possible mention why you got the 221g.

    Thanks. Appreciate any replies.

"Ajaktha" what area is your research on? I plan for an interview in Dec in chennai. My area is cell biology and biochemistry. what questions did the Visa officer ask you and what lead to pink slip?

                hi

reddy25in: if u get a pink form from chennai consulate then the link is:
                https://www.immihelp.com/usa-visas/2...sing-221g.html

all other links are in the 221g section on immihelp.com

                biochemist:
my field is bioinformatics. the visa officer only asked my field of work and my job description (which mentioned study of human disease). she immly gave the pink form to me.

it totally depends on what happens at that time. i know many who escaped 221g and a bunch who got it.

                  aJAKTHA:
I am sure than you will get it through soon. My wife (physics) had a similar situation for F1 visa stamping. They asked her only two questions (just like you) and gave her a pink slip for 221g. She got it through in 5 weeks.
It will be great if you keep posted on the developments. Will help me when I go for stamping in dec.

                    Pending after 8 weeks

                    Hi,

Its been 8 weeks and my case is still pending.
I do see a lot of activity in the case numbers on my page.
Hopefully, they take up my case soon too.

                    Thanks

                      For ajaktha

Dude...dont worry you will get it..bcoz I am sure all the docs are straight forward..its only bcoz of bureaucracy...its a stright case of finding out TAL or not? did you try calling DOS numbers and find out updates..if not try two zero two-six six three-one two two five...you gotta hold on...on a brighter note...relax and enjoy the stay in India..I know its easy to say and difficult to do but once you get the stamping..you will realize it wasn't too bad...

I also got 221 g blue slip and i dorpped my documents on 21st october then i got back again 221 g blue for AAP on 28th october
And on 5th November they asked for my Passport to drop
Today I dropped my Passport and waiting for the passport with stamp

So dont wry you wil also get releived from this waiting period soon as you need is somewhat patience because they dont deny any visa until its not genuine

And I guess now a days they started clearing the cases pretty soon and i guess you will also get the call soon

                          Wishing u all the best

                            221g from Chennai

Ajaktha...I am sailing in the same boat as you did. I was subject to 221g following my interview in Sept 08. I believe it is based on my field of research (Bioinformatics). It is almost 11 weeks since I responded to the questionaire, and my case status still appears "PENDING PROCESS" when I look up online. Did you ever contact the consulate with reference to your case status while it was still pending approval? I tried contacting them through phone and email several times, but have not received any useful information so far. Are there any steps you followed to expedite the processing. Any help/comments from you (and others in similar situation) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
