H1 to H4 and then back to H1

HI there,
I am working in US from past 2.5 years on a H1 b visa and now m planning to take some break and change my status from H1 to H4. I am planning to work again after 1 year so, how can I come back to H1 after COS to H4. Will I have to wait for a new petition to be filed and wait for it to be approved? Or its as easy as a H1 transfer.. hope u got my concerns.

You have to wait for COS approval to begin work. That can be done using PP.

The H1b employer that petitioned for an amendment and that promised the US govt that they will employ you. Premium Processing.

Will my new petition be affected by H1b cap? Also, is my H4 time counted in my 6 years period of H1 B time?
