  • Postdoctoral H1B visa interview experience

    Hi admin/members!

I am planning to appear for H1B visa in Chennai in December 08. I have finished my PhD from US (F1 visa) and am returning to India for H1B stamping. Anyone else who can share their visa interview experience in the biology/science research or just give me general inputs will be great. I have all my documentation in place and the only thing I worry about is the technology alert list (TAL).

    Hope to get some feedback.

The TAL is for the protection of all in the US. While it may affect you personally with a delay in visa issuance, you should be grateful that the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) is trying to keep every person in the US safe from terrorists who don't care who they kill or injure.

The questions are likely to be specific to your particular situation. Tell the truth. If your documents are ready, you should expect that the review will be done as quickly as feasible.

Realize that since your interview is just after the US election, things may be slower than normal as resources may be diverted to investigations of new administration appointees.
