Travel & COS query

Hello,

A person is on L1B visa in the US and applied for H1 in the US from another employer. My questions are:

1) How will a person know if the H1 was filed with COS from L1 to H1?

2) If one travels out of the US while H1 processing is pending with the USCIS, will this void the COS and a person can work on L1 even after the H1 is approved ? Is this true ?

3) Suppose if a person's H1 was applied with NO COS and is pending with the USCIS for processing and he decides to travel out of the US, can he return to the US on L1B and work for L1B company ?

4) If a person decides to get to H1 and start working for H1 company, I think visa stamping from home country is the best option, correct ?

P.S. I've read a lot of queries regarding leap frog and it's clear to me. But it's applicable only if H1 is approved before Oct 01 and only if the person wants to work for the previous employer on the previous Visa.

1. Will not know from anyone other than the lawyer or employer. If the person did not provide the latest I-94, COS is not possible.

Leapfrog is applicable for any COS. If you read all the posts, the answers should be readily available. I guess you just needed some reaffirmation.
