Misspelled Firstname on I-797 and I-94 - Driver's License

Hi ,

My first name is misspelled on renewed I-797 and I-94(got it a week before from my employer).I went to DMV office and came to know that spelling was wrong.They clearly told me that my name should be corrected by immigration to renew the License.My license expies on Dec 31st.

I spoke with my company's immigration depratment and they are saying that it will take atleast two months to get it corrected.So they said that they will give a company letter in the meantime and they asked me to try with company letter.

Is there anybody came across this issue? will company letter help?I am in New Jersey.

DMV strictly goes by immigration records and I-94. Your company record will not help.

You may renew it as is for now and go through the correction at a later stage.
