Hi,

I have H1B stamped already from an "employer A". I didn't travel to US even once. My visa has got the validity till Sep'2009.
Now I am currently working for an "Employer B" in India. They ask to travel to US for 2 months visit. I knew that I can't use my H1b for this 'Employer B'. They susggested me to get B1. My questions are,

1. Can I have both H1b or B1 visa ?
2. If I get B1 stamped, Will my H1b be cancelled ?

(I am planning to leave to US on January 2009 on H1b,after resigning from 'Employer B' )

1.But i heard few cases that H1b will be cancelled while going for stamping to get B1. ( ie: "void" will be sealed on the visa) Even your reply "Not necessarily" is likely to say that there are some possibilites to cancel the H1b.

2. And also i heard we should have only one kind of visas to use at a time.

Could anyone clarify my questions?

You can have multiple visas but enter US at a time on one single visa and status.

If you go for B1, the consular officer can ask you questions regarding your unused H1B visa and and decide to cancel it based on your information.
