  • wrongly printed last name in aproval notice form

    Hi,

My last name is printed incorrectly(an extra alphabet) in H1 Approval notice (I-797B Notice of action) issued by the consulate.

    Last name: kumarn
    printed as kumar (extra n)

    The first name is correct.

Is it ok? Or should I get it corrected before attending the Visa interview.

But it was given correctly while submitting the application of H1.

    Please advice. Need help.

    Hi,

I don't know but your question has exactly the same words which was put by someoneelse except for your name.
If you have copied from there , then you must have seen the replies also .
If not - then please search the forum for last 3-4 days and u will get ur answer in detail.
In short - yes..u should get it corrected for avoiding future problems.

    thanks,
    Abhay

          Hi,

I am really soory Harish...I don;t know the exact process of getting the name change in I-797 .
I think it should be done thru the employer -as they are the ones who hold ur H1 work permit.
I think Name will be change by USCIS and also they have to update in their system , and new I-797 will be issued. (Time factor also I don;t how much it will take)
But as per my opinion - u should approach ur employer.

          Thanks,
          Abhay
