H1B - Case Received and Pending

I have applied for H1B thru a consultant this year(2008). From then on, USCIS site shows the case status as "Case Received and Pending" until now(even in November). I have been asking the consultant about the visa status. He has mentioned that the H1B approval notice was received at his end. But, he is not showing me the approval notice. I don't know whether I really got the approval notice or not. Could some one suggest what can I do with this?

The online case status can be misleading. It is not 100% reliable. There is a small chance that the approval could have come through.

Either case, you need to talk to your lawyer as work on L1 past H1b approval is illegal. Read the "leapfrog" posts.
