  • H1 to F1 to H1 question

    Hello

I have a H1 visa that will finish its 6 yr term in Sep 2010. I wish to pursue a full time MBA next year and my visa will get changed to F1. Once I am done with my MBA and apply for a new H1, will the H1 still have a year of work left on it or will it reset to a new 6 yr term ? ( Will I have enough time to apply for a green card with the new employer ? )

    regards

You will have only what was left of the initial 6 year H1b term. Unless you go out of the country for a full year and get a new H1b approved under a new quota, you do not get a new 6 year term.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
