  • H1b Visa renewal - Checklist

    Hello All,
I got my visa renewed on 31st December 2008 from Chennai consulate.
These were the questions VO asked me.
    1. How long i have been on US?
    2. How many years i have been with the Current employer?
    3. Am i on bench?
    4. Do i have the paystubs without any break?
    5. When did i get married?
    6. Any Children? US Citizen?

I was pretty confident in answering him.
PN: The same VO rejected 3 applicants who were standing in front of me. For the last guy he took around 45 minutes. But it went on fine for me.

These were the document checklist that i prepared and had on the top of my documents.

thanks for posting the info on the web and congratulations.

did you have your visa renewed or transfer, i see that you have mentioned both current and old employer. if you have renewed your visa with the current employer for the second term, did you need a new I-797 or you were able to use the same one from the first term with your current employer.

You always have to use the I797 with your current employer.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
