Can H1 transfer be filed after I-94 expiry while another transfer appl is in proces

So, my H1 Visa and I-94 are going to expire on Jan 20th. It can still be extended for another 2 years.

I have already filed for an extension 2 days back through a Company ABC (don't have a job yet). But I am hoping to get a real permanent job with another Company XYZ in couple of weeks. The problem is by the time I will get it my I-94 would have expired.

So, my question is can the company XYZ apply for transfer/extension after my I-94/Visa expiry if a transfer/extension is already in process through another company ABC?
