Dear All,
First of all i would like to thank all the members for the useful information and support.I am planning to file H4 for 2009, in this context i would like know who has to file my case (wether the employer of my wife or my wife). Pls also let me know the documents required.

Your question is confusing. You want to ask about H1 or H4?
Try navigating the same links further for H1 filing requirements. Employer has to file H1.

Thanks for your reply and i am sorry for giving a confusion question, my point, If want to go US on H4 then my wife's company has to sponsor my H4 visa?

The company need not sponsor a H4. The H1b holder is responsible for the H4 visa and can be done without involvement of the company.

Hi,

As mentioned by txh1b , H4 can be done without the involvement of company.
But sometimes - company does help the employee in preparing the documents for H4 ,paying the HDFC receipts,preparing the folder containing all the documents etc.

So just enquire from ur wife's company.

Some companies issue the employment verification letter and a request letter to grant H4 visa to your wife.
