  • reputation of company filing H1

    hi,

i am filing for H1 this year..there are two companies(not related to each other) interested to sponsor me...one is quite well known while the other started a couple of years back.

i just want to know whether reputation of a company matters while one's filing is getting picked up...or is it a matter of random selection?

Random selection. It matters while approval of the petition though.

DO NOT PAY FOR THE H1B.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

thank u. but both are IT consultancy firms and not proper IT companies. so will that also matter?
can both the firms sponsor me?

Choose the one who is doing it for free.

Then check the authenticity of both the companies by

        1) Checking flcdatacenter, to find out how many petition got approved for the particular company since 2002 (to 2007)

        2) Check http://www.immihelp.com/h1b-sponsori...nies-database/ about any bad reviews

          staffing company

what you are doing is thinking which staffing company is good for you? well the one which doesn't charge you a single penny. if any company charges you deposit or visa fee then RUN. they will dupe your money. the various scenarios-
          1) they may charge you the money and tell you later that your visa got rejected (without filing it, digesting your money)
          2) they may abandon you if consulate ask for client letter or company financials..( no loss to them since you paid for the visa so your loss)
          3) you go through all the stages, you reaches USA, they will make you sign draconian bond papers and you will sign it eventually without thinking the consequences)
          4) you are on bench and they don't pay you. According to DOL, if you are not paid for a single month you go out of status. (the chances are very high that you will hit the bench in this economy)

so choice is your. you get what you ask for .

          best luck,

          ajay
