H1 Transfer & Expiry

Hi,

My H1B visa is expiring this May 2009. I'm trying to get my visa transferred to a new employer sooner. In that case what is the deadline before which I need to transfer. i.e. Is there some rule like the new petition has to be submitted or approved by so and so date before the expiry? Please help.

As long as the transfer is filed before your I-94 expires, you will be fine provided you meet other criteria for a H1b.
