  • Multiple H1B application

    Hi there,
I may get more than one offer for my H1B sponsorship for March 2009 lottery. I am wondering if it’s legal to have two applications for one person from two different employers?

My 2nd question is if both of my applications are selected in lottery, then what are the financial or legal consequences with the company I am NOT joining? Can they sue me or if I pay the H1B application fee, it will be fine.

    Thanks

I am not a lawyer and this is not a legal advice. Use it at your own risk. Consult professionals before getting into an action.

-- if you are going through some agents / indian consulatants then you must have to pay fees.. if both application is selected you can choose anyone but not both.. I selected from 2 employers I choose one before applying my visa stamp. and I never paid any fees to company1 even both companies becasue they needs my work, & I selected directly through American companies....

It is ILLEGAL to pay any H1b fees. Why are you advocating paying of a fee when it is illegal?

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

yes txth1b we knows that it's illegale to pay H1B fees, but some people coming through consultancy, and the desi consultant needs fees for apply H1B etc docs, mostly indian applicant dont know that? that word is new for them too sometimes. I told him/her if he is directly hired by some American company (no words like agents/consultants) then he don't have to pay, its illegale I know and you know but some guys dont know about same matter, after entering into USA they are worried and fighting about the fees, I seen some cases in my area.. thats why I wrote him about if he is coming from consultant or agents, some desi consultants cut fees from first pay and they dont show issued pay stubs this is also illegale but if he not paying fees to consultant may be desi consultant or agents whatever it is they will deny his/her visa... so they have to pay in this sittuation....
