My current status is;
H1B, expiration date June 11, 2009
I 94 expiration date June 11, 2009
My current employer has applied for an extension of my H1B from June 11 - June 30, 2009
My future ( different ) employer has applied for an extension of my H1B from July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2012
My question is - if my application for H1B extensions come through, do I have to immediately schedule an interview for H1B visa stamping as my I 94 will expire by then or continue to work for my future employer and bother about stamping only when I leave the country. My worry is that my I94 will expire by the time I get my I797 authorizing work with my new employer.
