HI,

If I am in the US on a L1 visa, and I get my H1b through a company, will my status automatically be changed to H1 from L1 in Oct, 09??

Also, when you complete six years on a H1 petition, can your employer file another H1b application, incase you have not initiated the GC processing??

This is immigration 101. If the H1b is filed requesting a COS, it will automatically change. Most likely the employer will request a COS and your status will be at risk if done so.

You have to stay out of country for 1 year to qualify for another H1b after completion of 6 years.

can you please tell me why is that a risk, and what if the employer doesn't ask for a COS in the application??

just to clarify,,...let's i am on L1 from employer A, and employer B files my H1? then how is it gonna be??

If it is a COS, you can no longer work on L1 past Oct 1st and must work and get paid from the H1b employer to maintain your status.
