Help about the H4 and Hi visa

This is Winston from India, I had applied for the H1B petition for the year 2008-2009 and it was approved by the USCIS, but my company people has not yet sent any documents to me so that I can attend for the visa interview in India. They are saying as the market condition in USA is bad and the process may be delayed by some more months.


But recently I got married and my wife is an H1b Visa holder who is working in the USA.

My questions are:

1. Can I apply for a H4 visa
2. Will there be any problem in the USA embassy in India that my H1b case approved.
3. When I am entering to USA as H4 will there be any problem in the port of entry that my H1b case approved.
4. If in case I am granted H4 visa and entered USA can I change my status from H4 to H1 in USA after I got all my papers.


The main thing is I want to accompany my wife can me suggest me in this regard.
