Change of Status from L1 to H1- Please respond ASAP

Hi,

I have a couple of questions regarding my change of status i.e, from L1 to H1.

1. Can I go to Bahamas for changing my status to H1 from L1?? If yes, please guide me with the process. Will there be any problem if go there other than Home country??
2. I got my H1 in Oct 08 and I do have all the recent paystubs from Oct to Jan 09. Will there be any problem if I go to India for my Status change.

Please advice me ur suggestions are appreciated and very helpful.

If you don't have US education, home country is always a better choice. You need to have a job with your H1b employer and be able to prove that it really exists.
