Hi

Am moving from San Antonio, TX to Duluth MN
Minimum wage in San Antonio – level 1 36k
Duluth – level 1 - 33k, level 2 – 42k

Q1 Should my employer reduce my salary to exactly 33k or elevate to 42k for filing H1/LCA amendment? Meaning should salary be exactly at minimum wage?

Q2 can employers not retain the existing salary even if minimum is 33k?

What does minimum mean? That is the least you can be paid for such a job. Anything more that it is acceptable.

One could have the min wage show 50k and still get paid 100k.

Yes thanks, I wanted to verify, cos my employer says that the attorney said it should lie exactly at the minimum wage of level 1 or 2 and not inbetween. sounded crazy to me so I wanted to clarify if such a thing is possible.
