Spouse's H4 stamping while no H1B stamped

Hello, I got COS from L1A to H1B in Oct 2008. I do not have H1B visa stamped on my passport yet. My wife is going to India on a vacation and will have to get H4 stamping in Chennai, India. Can anybody please advise if this is OK? Thank you very much in advance.

---- Although it may appear to be out of context, we hope that your wife also transferrred to H4 while you have your H1 in the US

---- Yes, if she goes out of the US on H4, she has to get her H4 visa stamped on her Passport. It does not matter if the H1 is stamped or not

Hi Subramanya, thank you very much for your response. When my status changed from L1 to H1, my wife's status also changed from L2 to H4.
