L1 visa versus C1 visa

I am on L1 visa. I need to transfer through the US by air to a final destination to work which is outside the US. Can I use the L1 visa to do the airport transfer in US?

No, you cannot. L1 is for a specific purpose and airport transfer does not qualify for it's use.
