F1-H1 this April

I have OPT till Jan 2010. My employer will be applying for H1 this April and will also apply for change of status.
In case the petition is not selected in the lottery, will I still be in F1 status post October and continue working till January 2010?

If you dont get the H1b/ lottery, you will continue to remain on F1 after Oct 1.
