H4 for my family in chennai

Hi Im currently in the US on H1 visa for the past 10 months.

I need to apply h4 for my wife and kid who is 8 months old now ..

1) do i need to go to india and apply for both of them is it possible ?

if possible what are the steps can i go to the consulate along with wife and kid ..


2) or do i need to be here and make them follow the whole process from there by sending them all the documents from here ..

---- There is no need for you to go to India for their H4 visa. Unless you want to go on a personal trip to visit your family

---- Send them all the documents and enable them to fill out the applications and guide them in taking visa interview appointment. Follow the VFS site completely and your wife can also go to the VFS office personally and seek their help in completing the applications and seeting up the interview. Find the nearest VFS office near your town
