H-1B stamping delayed due to 221(g)

Hi,

I am currently working in USA for a reputed SW and HW company.
Today i went for my H-1B stamping and was said that they need
to do background checks and it will take 4-8 weeks . Can someone
let me know what is the average time it takes for this processing to
complete ? I very much appreciate your responses .

BTW, i got 221(g) pink slip .

I'm waiting for my 221g (Pink form) clearance since Jan'09, still haven't received it.

Mine is a 'False Hit' case. But still no update, it's almost three months now.

All we can do is wait and pray.
