Problem at POE for H1

Hi Members,

One of my husband's friend who is working in UPS as a consultant went to India on a 15 days leave. But while coming back at POE the officer asked him where he was working, he said UPS. After confirming with the UPS authorities the officer came to know that he has only 1 month project with UPS. The officer wanted him to go back, but he requested that all his belongings are in his apt and he has a car to sell, then officer gave him a 15 day time to wind off his belongings.

How can the officer send a H1 who is still in project ,back to his home country?

Which POE? Why did he give the client name? He is working for his "employer" not the client. I seriously doubt the credibility of the information though.
