last date to file for H1

I am thinking to apply H1. i would like to know the last date for sending my petition. i came to know through my friends that Apr7th is the last date. but i didnt find that information in USCIS site. Pleas reply to this as soon as possible. Thank you for your response.

do you mean, i shall send my petition now so that if the the quota is not fulfilled they might consider later applications.

do they dont officially extend the date?

uscis has officially announced that they received only 42K (general category) applications out of the 65K quota. So there are still some chances, if you could find an employer soon.

---- USCIS is still acceptig H1 applications. Access their website for the latest information. Last date is not yet set. Only 42,000 applications have been received till date and they are open to receive more applications
