Expired I94/H1B Visa

Hello,

I have a question about H1B extension. I have read the following words on your website and my situation is exactly the same like that.

"If you are in H1B categories, your employer must file Form I-129, Petition for Non immigrant Worker, before your Form I-94 expires"

My I94 expired on January and H1B will expire on June. I didn't know I need to file before I94 expires. I'm now working to file the H1B extension. Can you please advise me what can be happened due to late file? Any help will be really appreciated.

How can your H1B expire in June while your I-94 already expired?
