renewal or new EAD

Hi All

I am on L2 visa just before sometime my visa got extended.

My EAD got expired in April'09 so can I apply for renewal or I need to get the new EAD.

Does anyone know how long it takes(PROCESSING TIME) now a days for getting EAD(last time before 2yrs in my case it took arnd 2 1/2months)

Can anyone tell me as I can work officially where exactly I should look forward to(I did M.C.A from india and having no development exp but worked as a manual tester in india and knowledge of Automated testing also)

Since you have an old EAD, it should be a renewal and you will have to attach a copy of existing EAD. Try to call USCIS to cross check since its already expired.

However, renewal and new application process is same and takes the same time. i.e. 2-3 months. You need to see current processing dates on their website.
