Visa Stamping in Tijuana

Hi,

I am a person of Indian origin. I had my last visa stamping from Vancouver, Canada. This visa stamping is now expired. I do have a valid I94 till 2011.

I plan to go to Tijuana for my visa stamping. Is there anybody who has a similar case where the last visa was stamped in a country outside their home country and who went to Mexico for visa stamping? I was reading as to who are eligible for visa stamping. I came across a point which i needed help in understanding. The Point states "Applicants who obtained their current visa in a country other than that of their legal residence"

Does this mean I will not be eligible for visa stamping in Tijuana as my current visa was stamped in Vancouver, canada?

Applicants who obtained their current visa in a country other than that of their legal residence are not eligible to apply in Mexico. Your legal residence is not canada.

That is unfortunate. Do you know if Canada and/or the Bahamas have the same restrictions?

I talked with my lawyer regarding the statment in the Mexico website

"Applicants who obtained their current visa in a country other than that of their legal residence."

US is considered you legal residence and you obtained the Canada visa when you are a legal resident of US so you should be fine

I am also planning to go to Tijuana on July 13th. I have got my first H1B stamped at Toronto. I have wrote to Tijuana consulate about my TCN status and they have confirmed that I can visit Tijuana for my Visa.

"You can come to the US Consulate in Tijuana since you already have an H1B visa.
Regards
US CONSULATE TIJUANA"

Hello friends

I have been following this link intently. I just received my new L1B petition in the US (I am also right now in the US) and need to go for visa stamping. I am not getting dates in any US consulate Canada so I decided to go to Mexico. Am I eligible to get visa stamped in Mexico? My current visa is expired but was stamped in Kolkata, India. If I am eligible to apply in Mexico, which location in Mexico I select? I am in located in Detroit, Michigan.
